Chagas / A Hidden Affliction

Chagas - A Hidden Affliction
is a documentary film about Chagas, a disease that affects nearly 20 million people worldwide, kills nearly 50,000 per year, but is practically unknown to the general public.

Chagas has few external symptoms. It slowly destroys the internal organs of patients, and may not kill them for 10 to 20 years.

The movie shows how Chagas is spreading worldwide, aided by public ignorance, and government indifference.

Latino immigrants in the US and Europe bring Chagas with them as they seek a better life in a new world, only to be ignored or misunderstood by the medical community.
